I'm 17, I draw and of course, write. I define myself as a woefully novice political journalist, and I prefer the subjective opinionated route as opposed to the objective reciting of the facts. I despise where the media as a whole is heading and I'll be the first to tell you that I'm easily angered and extremely passionate about my views. I'm scathing and foul, and my works are not for the meek or faint of heart.

This is written for content, not format. It's a rambling, raving, scathing 600 words of unrevised drabble. It cites the folly of the Government, the Media, and the citizens themselves. It's a call to arms, to wake up and care before its too late. Harse words not for the timid, and there's no remorse or second thoughts by the author.

An Insistent Charge: It's so obvious the blind see it!

Stormy weather breeds contempt; mix that with a 24-hour news channel and by God, you just might be able to comprehend the truth in your rage. The truth that this country is on its way down from what was a valley to begin with. This fall has only one outcome, the bottom that no one sees but everyone knows is there. It's fucking close, but you can't see it for the horrid smoke generated by the government muddled with the medias fog...A smog of bullshit. Citizens are blind to their own eminent demise.

Yes, this country has been rapidly degrading for sometime. The careless generation to which I belong heralds the White Flag of Surrender to the almighty Political Machine that dares call itself democracy. The approval rating of our esteemed Texan president G.W. Bush's current approval rating is an abysmal 31%. Well, that's not saying much, seeing as how popular vote went to Gore back in '96 and somehow that be damned electoral college got the man in office anyway. Not that this is any problem, frankly I feel that we were pretty fucked from the get-go, as with the Kerry alternate in 2000. The fact is that Bush's administration has fucked us around quite a bit.

That tragic event, 9/11, where almost 3,000 Americans died in the plan hijacks. Well, we showed those terrorist bastards in Afghanistan, by God! Indeed, we showed them good when we smugly invaded Iraq. That'll teach those sand-loving swine! Well as of yesterday, May 8th, we've hit 2,422 in the death count. Oh, gee man.. Well. We've still killed less Americans than those terrorist fuckers, right? That's justification enough!

Right, and what about all the deaths called by our lack of preparation? While the whole administration has been a Goddamned plague upon men, I'll just cite hurricane Katrina as a recent concrete disaster that they somehow managed to make worse than nature itself intended. At the time of this catastrophe, our wise and powerful President was vacationing in Texas and receiving a few rewards for greatness in California. Bush's partner in crime, Dick Cheney, used expert oil-mogul judgment when he told oil crews to divert diesel to the northeast, 86ing two hospitals need of the stuff after the levee broke.

Now let's briefly touch on the subject of the inadequacy of Homeland Security and FEMA. FEMA actually turned away the Coast Guard at an attempt to deliver supplies and relief, as well as similar intentions by Wal-Mart. Now the true thing to debate.. is whether the administration is horrendously evil... or just plain fucking retarded.

The truth of the matter is, our government is so far up it's own ass that it probably forgot what the fuck New Orleans was. Hell, we've got terrorists with the possibility of nuclear weapons to worry about! Real Americans would know how to swim. We've got the desert sands to watch, guys. Sorry, you're on your own.

But what's more disturbing is we let this happen. Bush's approval rating is at 31 fucking percent. That's out of 100, folks. Why is this man still in office? When we discovered how much of a Dick Nixon was, he hopped a plane out of here till Ford made things better for the filthy bastard. But for us to move on the subject, it seems like just too much effort. Perhaps a government steeped in lies, stupidity, and disfunctionality is exactly what this country deserves if we aren't going to get out and do something about it.

All and all, we're on a downward spiral.. And frankly, I'm getting to fucking dizzy to handle it much longer. Either we stop going down.. or we go on and take what's at the bottom... And I can fucking tell you, it isn't going to be paradise.
